Ralph Lauren Unveils Team USA Olympic Uniforms

NEW YORK — Olympics fever is spreading and Ralph Lauren fanned the flames Tuesday when it took the wraps off the uniforms that will be worn by Team USA next month in Paris.

For the ninth time, the company will dress both the Olympic and Paralympic athletes for both the opening and closing ceremony parades as well as the flag bearers. Ralph Lauren has also created a line of Villagewear that is less formal than the parade uniforms. The uniforms and Villagewear will be available for sale beginning Tuesday on both the Ralph Lauren stores and website as well as at the Team USA Shop. Proceeds from the sale of the products will benefit the team.

“America is one of maybe one or two teams that are not funded by government,” David Lauren, chief branding and innovation officer for Ralph Lauren Corp., told WWD at a preview on Monday. “So the sale of these products helped make it possible for the athletes to compete. We were very committed to picking products that are saleable. So we based the collection on products that we know will be popular and easy to wear.”

Lauren said the money raised by the sale of the merchandise makesFollow WWD on Twitter or become a fan on Facebook.

French Model Constance Jablonski’s Top 10 Summer Essentials

At age 17, Constance Jablonski moved from the northern French countryside to New York City to pursue her modeling career. Since then she has not only become known as one of the most sought-after talents in the industry for nearly two decades — posing on the covers of leading fashion magazines and in advertising campaigns for brands spanning from Hermès and Calvin Klein to J.Crew; walking numerous catwalks, and serving as a global ambassador for Estée Lauder and face of Guerlain’s Abeille Royale skin care range, to name a few — but also for her personal style that blends classic Parisian chic with casual ease and hints of novelty.

In 2021, the model also became an entrepreneur with the launch of French Bloom (founded by Jablonski and close friend Maggie Frerejean-Taittinger), a sparkling nonalcoholic alternative to bubbly Champagne.

The zero-proof wine alternative is now seen at global retailers, eateries and locales as high-profile, or mainstay, to fashion enthusiasts as Jablonski’s personal style and portfolio. They include Erewhon and Boisson; the Beverly Hills Hotel and The Carlyle in New York; Galleries Lafayette in Paris, and Mr. Chow and The Odeon in New York, among others.
