Black Fashion Fair x Theophilio Host ‘Family Reunion’

On June 19 in Brooklyn, Black Fashion Fair founder Antoine Gregory and Theophilio designer Edvin Thompson, the 2021 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund recipient, teamed to throw “Family Reunion,” a party in observation of Juneteenth.
“Family Reunion is an exploration of the Black experience through photos. With the Family Reunion capsule with Theophilio, we expand on the idea of representation in fashion but also reconsider and revalue our own family photos,” Gregory said. The guest list consisted of customers, friends and family. Guests were able to purchase vintage Black or brown T-shirts and submit their own family photo to be placed on the front with “Theophilio” printed on top in yellow crystals for $178 and also watched live performances from singer Elle Varner and rapper Theophilus London. Guest could also have their portraits taken by photographer Christian Cody.

Blackpink’s Lisa: ‘I’m Very New in the Fashion World’: EXCLUSIVE

As a juror for the 2021 ANDAM awards, which are to be presented tonight at a ceremony in Paris, Lalisa Manoban did not only spend hours poring over the portfolios the contenders submitted.
The Thai music sensation, known simply as Lisa to Blackpink’s legion of fans, also combed social media to better understand each fashion designer’s aesthetic and style universe.
Manoban headlines a star-studded list of guest jurors that also includes Chinese singer Chris Lee and fashion designers Kerby Jean-Raymond and Phoebe Philo.
Cédric Charbit, chief executive officer of Balenciaga and the president of this year’s ANDAM jury, decided to fling the door open wide and make this year’s jury more varied, “progressive,” and international, fanning interest in the 32nd edition of the annual design competition, which recently upped the grand prize amount to 300,000 euros from 250,000 euros.
The seven finalists for the main award are GmbH, Wales Bonner, Area, Rokh, Bianca Saunders, Ludovic de Saint-Sernin and Casablanca. There is also a prize for accessories and another for young French brands.
In an exclusive interview with WWD, Manoban expressed her zeal for the project, helping to choose the winners for a prestigious French fashion prize that has been a springboard for the likes of Martin

Gab Waller Secures the Bag

The tricky aspect of exclusive, hard-to-get items is that they’re exclusive and hard to get, which is exactly how Gab Waller has carved out a corner of Instagram for herself to become the app’s luxury sourcing maestro to the stars.
The Australia native was spending time in Los Angeles and increasingly noticing items that she knew they wouldn’t receive back in Sydney. This sparked the thought that — though personal shopping and styling as concepts are nothing groundbreaking — perhaps she could iterate on the traditional conceit by sourcing pieces unavailable in someone’s home market — and for a new, digital-first audience.
Returning home, the fashion enthusiast — but by no means professional (“I definitely wasn’t known within the fashion industry down here in Australia,” she notes) — catalyzed her business by cold direct messaging potential clients on Instagram, pitching the idea of delivering them items that they were seeing across the internet but had no access to Down Under, and crossing her fingers. “I really just had to prove myself to them in those early days, because I was just this random girl.”
Officially launching her business via the @gabwallerdotcom Instagram account in June 2018 wasn’t without its challenges. “I was getting
