Dua Lipa, Puma Team on First Collection

Dua Lipa and Puma are taking their partnership a step forward with their first collaboration.
After being tapped last fall as a brand ambassador, the Grammy-winning musician and Puma are releasing a capsule collection called “Flutur,” which is the Albanian word for butterfly. The ’90s-inspired collection will include four pieces across apparel and footwear styles and features a new logo blending Puma’s logo with a butterfly.
“For me, butterflies are more than just beautiful creatures,” Lipa said in a statement. “They represent so much, like transformation, hope and metamorphosis. Over the past year, the butterfly has become especially symbolic and meaningful to me.”
The collection includes black-and-white baby Ts, a black hoodie and the Mayze sneaker, which is designed in a triple black leather and includes a stacked midsole and zigzag stitching on the formstrip.

The pieces are a teaser of the full capsule collection that Lipa and Puma are planning on releasing next year.
“It was important for Dua to release staple pieces that would complement any wardrobe,” said Maria Jose Valdes, general manager of Puma’s Sportstyle Business Unit, in a statement. “She knew what she wanted and brought those ideas to the table. This capsule is just a tease

Kate Middleton Wears Catherine Walker Dress to Host Televised Holiday Carol Service

Kate Middleton looked to one of her go-to designers for the royal family’s holiday carol service.
The Duchess of Cambridge wore a festive, bright red coatdress from Catherine Walker to host the “Together at Christmas” holiday carol service, which marks Middleton’s first televised holiday special. The special was filmed on Wednesday at Westminster Abbey and will be televised in the U.K. on Christmas Eve. Middleton paired the look with matching Gianvito Rossi pumps and a clutch.
The televised holiday carol special is meant to celebrate the “incredible work of individuals and organizations across the nation who go above and beyond to support their families,” according to a statement released by the duchess and her husband, Prince William, late last month.
The special will look back at the last 18 months of the pandemic and highlight the people and organizations that have made a difference. The special is supported by the Royal Foundation, which is the couple’s charitable organization.
Prince William and Kate Middleton are seen at the “Together At Christmas” community carol service at Westminster Abbey.

Pantone Reveals 2022 Color of the Year

The colloquial “What’s new?” has weathered away as a conversation opener as the pandemic has stretched into its second year, but Pantone is providing a solid answer to that question with its Color of the Year.
Instead of culling a winner from its leading seasonal colors — or two, as has been the case in years past — the color specialists have gone off the grid to create the 2022 shade. Their choice of Very Peri — Pantone 17-3938 — was unveiled Wednesday night at an immersive event at Artechouse.
Knowing many people still feel mired in sameness while searching for ways to live and work differently, as well as the will and determination to deal with current challenges, Pantone Color Institute specialists said they also took into account the promise of eye opening perspectives and possibilities, our increased reliance on digital technology and “this whole thing with the metaverse” in developing the new hue. That’s an awful lot to ask of any color, but in the name of creativity, newness and the future, they created one.
During a joint interview with Pantone Color Institute executive director Leatrice Eiseman, vice president Laurie Pressman said, “This is a really different time. How do we

The Top Trending 2021 Beauty Holiday Gift Ideas, According to Google

The 2021 holiday shopping season is going strong, with consumers increasingly looking to do their shopping in the beauty category.
According to market research company The NPD Group, more than a quarter of consumers are planning on purchasing within the beauty category for the holiday season. The category as a whole is poised for double-digit revenue growth by the end of the year.
Within the beauty category, consumers have been gravitating toward purchasing hair tools and heritage fragrances for their holiday gifts, according to Google data that monitored the top trending 2021 holiday gift ideas within the category.
Within hair tools, the top trending holiday gift ideas include the Beachwaver Pro 1 curling wand, Dyson’s Airwrap, the Conair Infiniti Pro Curl Secret and the BabylissPro Nano Titanium Prima.
This is in line with NPD’s prediction that the hair category will have one of the strongest holidays to date, with revenue in the category expected to outpace fragrance, which is historically the top-revenue earning category within beauty.
Fragrance, however, is still expected to be a top gift idea this season with 40 percent of annual fragrance sales happening during the fourth quarter, according to NPD. Google’s data shows that heritage fragrances are reigning supreme among consumers,

Curtain Bangs, Lip Blushing and Mullets Top Yelp’s Beauty Trends Forecast for 2022

Another year, another set of beauty trends to potentially try out.
According to a report by Yelp that looks at beauty search trends by users in the last year, up-and-coming treatments such as lip blushing and the curtain bangs hairstyle are looking to be some of the most popular trends for the coming year.
As with recent years, lip treatments continue to be popular, but instead of the typical lip filler, search interest in treatments such as the lip flip and lip blushing have increased to 107 percent and 130 percent, respectively.
The lip flip, reportedly popularized by users on TikTok, is a treatment in which Botox is used on the upper part of your top lip, causing the muscle to relax and flip outward, giving the appearance of more natural, fuller-looking lips.
Lip blushing, on the other hand, is a form of semipermanent makeup. It is a cosmetic tattoo for the lips to help enhance its natural color and definition.
Surprisingly, the mullet, a signature ‘70s hairstyle, is making a retro comeback, with Yelp searches for “mullet” up by 73 percent. Celebrities such as Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato, among many others, have turned to this hairstyle in the last year or so, with

Adam Sandler Is the Top Trending Celebrity Style Star of 2021

The return to the in-person red carpet and early Aughts nostalgia proved to be influential in determining the top trending celebrity style stars this year.
Google’s Year in Search data showed the 10 celebrities with the top trending style of 2021. Perhaps surprisingly, the top ranking went to actor Adam Sandler, who has become a style star in his own right this year thanks to Gen Z’s inclination toward fashion trends of the early 2000s.
Sandler’s style has resonated with the masses for its casual nature. The actor has become known for wearing baggy clothes in styles like polo shirts, oversize T-shirts, basketball shorts, loose-fitting jeans and sneakers.

Also in the vein of nostalgia, Google’s second top trending celebrity style star of 2021 is Britney Spears, whose been top of mind in the cultural lexicon this year due to her conservatorship battle against her father, Jamie Spears, which recently came to an end in her favor. Spears’ style was heavily influential on the year’s most popular Halloween costumes, which took inspiration from many of her iconic music videos and awards show looks from the early Aughts.
Aside from nostalgia, the year’s return to the in-real-life red carpet also proved to be influential on

Chanel Responds to TikTok Controversy Over Advent Calendar

PARIS — Chanel has responded to online controversy about its advent calendar after being mocked by influencers over the contents of the limited-edition box, resulting in a flood of negative comments on social media in the run-up to its annual Métiers d’Art runway show, due to take place on Tuesday.
Bruno Pavlovsky, president of fashion and president of Chanel SAS, said the French luxury house produced the calendar as part of this year’s celebrations of the 100th anniversary of Chanel No.5 perfume, and it did not expect the negative feedback.
“This controversy is a bit of a shame because it was not what Chanel intended. Chanel thought it would please some of its customers by offering this type of product. Evidently, we see that you have to be careful and therefore, in future, we will certainly be much more cautious,” Pavlovsky told WWD on Monday.
Asked whether this was the first time that Chanel produced an advent calendar, the executive said: “No, I don’t think so, but it wasn’t necessarily for sale.” He added that the 2021 calendar was produced in a very limited run, which was totally sold out.
A spokesman confirmed it was the first time Chanel had offered a calendar for
