The Standout Fashion Moments From the 2021 NBA Draft

If there was ever a moment to make your fashion debut in the NBA, it would be draft day.
On Thursday, big names like Cade Cunningham, Jalen Suggs and Jonathan Kuminga dressed to the nines as they walked into Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
The first-round draft pick was Cunningham, a freshman point guard from Oklahoma State, who will go to the Detroit Pistons. Cunningham partnered with Neiman Marcus in picking out his ensemble. He wore a two-piece tuxedo suit from Isaia and black Christian Louboutin spiked low-top sneakers.
Davion Mitchell, the point guard from Baylor who will be heading to Sacramento to play for the Kings, also partnered with Neiman Marcus for the draft. Mitchell wore a jacket from Amiri, black button-down from Brioni, pants from YSL and black spiked Christian Louboutin loafers.

A Breakdown of Nastia Liukin’s Colorful Tokyo Olympics Style

Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin may not be competing in the Tokyo Summer Olympics, but her colorful style has been stealing the spotlight as she provides commentary for the sport.
Liukin — who won five Olympic medals in gymnastics at the 2008 Beijing Games, including gold in the all-around competition — has made an impact on Olympics viewers with her colorful, monochromatic style in bright hues of purple, blue, orange and pink.
“Everything is thought out, really symbolic and very detailed regarding the colors that she’s wearing,” said Liukin’s fashion stylist, Gabriela Tena, who spoke to WWD from Spain. “We try to do a different color for each look so it’s not all the same color and it’s like a color storyboard almost.”
Tena explained that many of Liukin’s colorful looks have a meaning behind them. For Liukin’s first day providing gymnastics commentary for NBC, for example, the Olympic gymnast paid homage to the late Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi with her purple Safiyaa pants and matching purple Tom Ford heels that she paired with a white, ruffled Zimmermann top.
“He was a big mentor to her and they met at the 2008 Olympics,” Tena explained. “She wore purple to honor Kobe and Gigi.”

Black Fashion Fair x Theophilio Host ‘Family Reunion’

On June 19 in Brooklyn, Black Fashion Fair founder Antoine Gregory and Theophilio designer Edvin Thompson, the 2021 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund recipient, teamed to throw “Family Reunion,” a party in observation of Juneteenth.
“Family Reunion is an exploration of the Black experience through photos. With the Family Reunion capsule with Theophilio, we expand on the idea of representation in fashion but also reconsider and revalue our own family photos,” Gregory said. The guest list consisted of customers, friends and family. Guests were able to purchase vintage Black or brown T-shirts and submit their own family photo to be placed on the front with “Theophilio” printed on top in yellow crystals for $178 and also watched live performances from singer Elle Varner and rapper Theophilus London. Guest could also have their portraits taken by photographer Christian Cody.

The ‘Gossip Girl’ Reboot Is Coming: A Look Back at the Show’s Iconic Fashion Moments

Over the last few decades, few TV shows have remained in the cultural lexicon for their fashion the way that the CW’s “Gossip Girl” has.
The show became known for its over-the-top, high-fashion-meets-private school style that made actresses Leighton Meester and Blake Lively, who played Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodson, respectively, fashion icons in their own right.
Costume designer Eric Daman curated the show’s coveted costumes, dressing the stars in looks that were often straight from the fashion week runway. This includes some of the show’s most memorable fashion moments, such as the Elie Saab spring 2012 couture dress Meester’s character wore at her impromptu wedding to Chuck Bass in Central Park during the series finale.
The show also attracted many of the industry’s biggest names for cameos throughout its six seasons, including Karlie Kloss, Tory Burch, Rachel Zoe and Cynthia Rowley, among others.
Now as HBO Max is gearing up to release its “Gossip Girl” reboot next month, WWD looks back at some of the most iconic fashion moments from the original series. Scroll on for more.

A Closer Look at Ariana Grande’s Wedding Dress

Ariana Grande is giving fans a closer look at her recent wedding.
The Grammy-winning singer shared photos from her intimate ceremony with real estate developer Dalton Gomez on Instagram Wednesday, posting several photos of her and her husband and closer details of her custom Vera Wang wedding dress.
The Vera Wang wedding dress is a lily white, silk charmeuse strapless dress with an Empire waist and a sculpted neckline. Grande paired the dress with a matching handmade, shoulder-length veil with a satin bow accent that sat atop her signature high ponytail. The wedding look was styled by Mimi Cuttrell and Grande wore pearl and diamond earrings by Lorraine Schwartz. Gomez wore a black suit by Tom Ford.
Grande and Gomez were married in a small ceremony on May 15 at the singer’s home in Montecito, Calif., with 20 guests, according to Vogue. The couple has been dating since January 2020 and got engaged in December.
Grande’s wedding isn’t the first time the singer has worn a custom Vera Wang look. She previously wore an ethereal, screen-printed gown by the designer to the Met Gala in 2018 for the “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” exhibit. The 2021 Billboard Music Awards aired Sunday night, bringing together celebrities like The Jonas Brothers, Megan Fox, Machine Gun Kelly, BTS, Alicia Keys and other stars who made an impact at the annual award show for their designer looks.
Nick Jonas, who hosted the show and performed with his brothers, changed outfits multiple times, courtesy of stylist Avo Yermagyan. The musician walked the red carpet in an emerald green three-piece Fendi look from the design house’s fall 2021 ready-to-wear collection, posing alongside wife Priyanka Chopra, who wore an embellished Dolce & Gabbana dress, and his brothers.

He then changed into a red-to-blue ombré Berluti suit from the design house’s fall rtw collection and later a graphic printed jacket and black trousers from the Dior Men pre-fall 2021 collection.
Machine Gun Kelly and Fox, who have increasingly become a red carpet couple to watch, also had a standout fashion moment at the Billboard Music Awards.
