Blackpink’s Rosé arrived at the Met Gala for the first time.
The music sensation, with the fashion house’s creative director Anthony Vaccarello by her side, stepped onto the carpet of the 2021 Met Gala in Saint Laurent. This marks the singer’s debut at the coveted fundraising benefit held at the Museum of Metropolitan Art in New York City. Rosé also makes history as one of the first female K-pop stars to attend the Met Gala, along with Korean rapper CL, born Lee Chae-rin.
Her dress was a simple little black dress finished with a giant white bow across the chest from the brand’s winter 2021 collection. To finish off her look, she donned patent black platform heels and an embellished black choker and statement earrings, while her platinum blonde hair was in a teased high ponytail.
Rosé, born Chae-Young Park, is most famous for being one of the four members of popular South Korean girl group, Blackpink, which also includes Ji-soo Kim, Lalisa Manobal and Jennie Kim, known simply as Ji-soo, Lisa and Jennie to their legion of Blackpink fans known as “Blinks.”

It wouldn’t be Lil Nas X without an outfit change or two.
The rapper, fresh off his Video of the Year win at the MTV VMAs Sunday, stepped onto the Met Gala carpet in not one, not two, but three custom outfits by Versace. Lil Nas X arrived in a flowing, regal-inspired cloak before shedding it to show off a gold, gilded armor like that of a knight, then removing that to reveal a sparkling, gold formfitting bodysuit.

The 22-year-old artist isn’t the first to do numerous outfit changes at the coveted fundraising benefit. In 2019, Lady Gaga showed off four different looks by Brandon Maxwell.

Billie Eilish has left her mark at the 2021 Met Gala.
The Grammy-winning musician, who is a co-chair at the Met Gala, referenced old Hollywood glamour at the event’s red carpet on Monday dressed in a custom Oscar de la Renta gown. The peach-colored gown was designed with a printed tulle ombré bustier top and with an oversize tulle skirt.
“This is the first time I’ve done something in this realm at all,” Eilish told E! on the Met Gala red carpet about the look. “I’m shivering and I’m shaking. I’m so excited, I have butterflies. I couldn’t be happier.”
According to E!, Eilish went with Oscar de la Renta for the 2021 Met Gala after designers Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim announced the brand would go fur-free last month. The brand had started phasing out fur in its collections two years ago and allowed its fur license to expire in April.

Amanda Gorman has made her Met Gala debut.
The national youth poet laureate, who is co-chairing the 2021 Met Gala, arrived on the red carpet wearing a custom Vera Wang dress that references the Statue of Liberty. The cobalt blue look was designed as a mini dress with a tulle train and Swarovski crystals. Gorman’s look was styled by Jason Bolden.
“I wanted the energy and the spirit of my outfit to be about America welcoming the world,” Gorman said about the look on the Met Gala red carpet.
Gorman accessorized the red carpet with a clutch designed to look like a book that reads the phrase, “Give Us Your Tired,” which references the poem that’s etched on the Statue of Liberty.
